If there was such thing as an ‘It’ Rug then the Beni Rug would be it! Frequently popping up on the feed at the moment, an original vintage Beni Ouarain rug has quite a tale, if you are ever lucky enough to come across one! (Like… here).
An authentic Beni has been handwoven by Berber artisans from natural wool and is decorated by a striking monochrome diamond design. Made in the North Eastern Middle Atlas Mountains of Morocco, Beni Ouarain rugs are considered the most prestigious in Morocco!
They are made from 100% sheep wool and are 100% natural in colour (apart from a single red thread, signifying the rug is legit!). These rugs are woven from the wool of the sheep that are unique to the Atlas Mountains – an ancient breed of smaller sheep that produce the excellent high quality wool that makes Beni Ourain rugs so special and fluffy!
