So it’s been a lllllloooonnngg year and no amount of coffee will get rid of the tired feeling you’re waking up with every morning. Well I’m no doctor but I reckon it might be time for a small vacay! And I don’t think there is more perfect a place to do this than an office favourite and special place, Byron Bay. To take the thinking out of your trip we’ve put together a little guide of all the things to eat and do whilst on your getaway.

The food in Byron is some of the freshest and most delicious (often organic too) that you will find in the country so don’t even think about touching the pots and pans while you’re away! To get your coffee and brunch fix you can’t go past Bay Leaf. Everything is organic, wholesome and delicious (insert a zillion !). Unlike so many café’s these days, the food not only is what insta dreams are made of but tastes just as scrummy. For our vego friends Folk Cafè is another great option and for an acai bowl that trumps all acai bowls you must visit Combi.

After spending all day at the beach trying to catch them waves (and there are always PLENTY of waves in this surf town) in between spotting whales and dolphins from the sand, you’ll be pretty peckish! For the freshest mojito’s and cheap but tasty Mexican head straight to Miss Margarita’s! Feeling a little more fancy? Then head to St. Elmo’s for a romantic dinner for two or for a freshly shucked oyster and a cocktail jug then the Balcony Bar & Oyster Co has you covered!

Although your time in Byron Bay should be all about that R & R, after a mere few days of sleep ins and long, relaxing days at the beach you will be feeling a new sense of invigoration – just in time for activities – promise! A place where everything is accessible by foot, it’s definitely worth hiring a bike at some stage to explore all that this sleepy beach town’s surrounds have to offer. Make sure you look beyond the main beach and take a dive in the surrounding waters of Watego’s and Tallows Beach. A bike ride where you are guaranteed to be rewarded for your efforts is the one to The Farm. Make sure you take some baked goods for the road and head back into town. If you can manage an early rise one morning, the Lighthouse walk won’t disappoint and just as pretty at sunset if waking up with the birds isn’t your thing. This is the perfect cherry on the delicious cake that is Byron Bay.

If you manage to leave this beautiful place without daydreaming about what your life would look like here then you must be some other kind of non-human species… Until next time Byron…

xx
